Creative writing is a reflective and intuitive method to gain professional and personal insight into your work as a coach or coach supervisor. You will learn how to become more insightful and self aware through creative writing practices and journal writing which offer insightful insights into your work and yourself.

When engaged with creatively writing is a powerful and reflective tool for connecting and being guided by your own inner coach and using reflective practice for improved performance and enhanced well-being.

This is a practical session, which involves several writing exercises to demonstrate how the techniques work and how they can be applied in practice. The practical activities reinforce what has been discovered through research about the benefits and value of therapeutic and expressive writing and a conscious and informed writing practice.

The writing practice sessions will build on research, which demonstrates the value and number of benefits creative and expressive writing can offer the practitioner on a number of levels both professionally and personally.

The workshop will be based on exercises and research from Jackee’s latest book: 49 Ways To Write Yourself Well: The Science and Wisdom Of Writing and Journaling.

The learning objectives for the session are as follows:

1. Learn how writing creatively can be an engaging and enjoyable way of gaining valuable and transformative insights into your coaching dilemma’s and challenges and how when engaged with on a regular basis a regular writing practice will inform your knowledge and self awareness and strengthen your ability and performance as aware and intuitive coaches and practitioners.

2. Learn and practice focused creative writing sessions which will  demonstrate how creative writing can help effectively and skillfully manage and resolve difficult and complex emotions and feelings that arise during our work. You will practice creative writing techniques that will help you uncover solutions to coaching dilemma’s and challenges and discover your own strengths and vulnerabilities which may be hidden from view or unacknowledged. You’ll also uncover how the writing process can be full of surprises and new discoveries which are recovered from the page as you deepen into creative writing and move beyond the conscious into the unconscious mind.

3. Discover how creative writing strengthens our ability as reflective practitioners and gives you an edge in your work as a coach or coach supervisor. Understand the links between Free Association and the unconscious mind and how engaging in creative writing for reflective supervision can enhance mindfulness as an approach n our work and how we manage and understand ourselves and others.
